These young men perceived the idea that Rotary is the vehicle on which they can extend their expertise and the knowledge in reaching the goals of helping the community. Thus was born Cochin Central on 20th September 1989. The charter from Rotary International was received on the 19th December 1989, thus admitting the club into the comity of 30,000 clubs worldwide spreadover160 countries.

Over the last decade this inspiration remains undiminished in Cochin Central. To accomplish the objectives in the very first year of its existence, the novel project of Sadhya Food Festival was conducted to raise funds to implement the projects. A service trust was established to oversee the supervision of the funds. There was no looking back ever since. The funds have grown and the services to the society continued with improved vigor year after year.
