The programme was held at the Mother Teresa Seminar Hall and was attended by around 40 members of the teaching and non-teaching staff of St. Xavier’s College for Women. The session concluded with an engaging discussion, where participants raised questions and received practical medical guidance in an open and supportive setting.

An awareness video on anger management conducted by Archana KM (Clinical Psychologist)and Dr. Evelyn George (Consultant Psychiatrist)
Anger is like fire:
•โ โ It can warm or burn.
•โ โ Uncontrolled, it destroys; managed, it empowers.
•โ โ Let's learn to tame the flame, not fuel the blaze.
Anger management is key:
•โ โ To peaceful relationships and a happy heart.
•โ โ To clear thinking and wise decision-making.
•โ โ To a life of purpose and fulfillment.
Remember:
•โ โ Anger is natural, but aggression is a choice.
•โ โ Breathe, pause, and respond – don't react.
•โ โ Manage your anger, and it will serve you; let it manage you, and it will enslave you.

Dr. Dhanya C.A. (MS), Consultant in Cataract and Glaucoma Services at Chaithanya Eye Hospital & Research Institute, recently delivered a vital presentation on behalf of Rotary Cochin Central. The session, titled "Glaucoma - A Silent Killer of Vision," shed light on the dangers of this often asymptomatic disease on social media feeds.
Why it matters: Glaucoma is often called the "silent thief of sight" because it typically shows no symptoms until significant, irreversible vision loss has occurred. Regular screenings are the only way to detect high intraocular pressure early and protect your sight.
Dr. Rahul R. Menon, Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon at Chaithanya Eye Hospital & Research Institute, recently delivered an insightful talk on behalf of Rotary Cochin Central on the "Need for Regular Eye Checkups for Diabetic Patients. through social media"
Diabetes can silently affect your eyes, leading to vision loss if left unchecked. Regular eye exams help detect issues early, saving your sight. Here's why they're crucial:
- Diabetic Retinopathy : High blood sugar damages retinal blood vessels, causing vision loss.
- Early Detection : Regular checkups catch issues before symptoms appear.
- Prevention : Timely treatment can prevent vision loss and blindness.
When to check:
- At diagnosis
- Annually (or as advised by your doctor)
Take charge of your vision.

It is with a heart full of gratitude and pride that we share with you on STRIDE Maker Studio: Creating Lives of Dignity Through Technology. The STRIDE Maker Studio at Adarsh Centre is a small manufacturing facility where young adults with autism and other neurodivergent conditions learn to make affordable assistive devices using modern 3D printing technology. Think of everyday items that persons with disabilities need—special spoons for eating, communication boards, mobility aids, grip holders—devices that usually cost โน5,000 to โน55,000 when imported, but which this studio produces for just โน500 to โน15000. What makes this truly special is that the people making these devices are themselves neurodivergent individuals who understand the challenges firsthand, creating a genuine connection between maker and user.
Through Rotary’s sponsorship, this studio provides not just a workplace, but dignified employment with fair wages, helping families move from dependency to financial independence while building real technical skills in digital fabrication.
As Rotarians, we were profoundly honored to represent Rotary Cochin Central in this noble endeavor as our club provided Adarsh with the 3D printer/equipment last year and now by providing the working capital for next 6 months.
